In a traditional Vietnamese wedding, the groom carries the wedding bouquet and, together with the representatives (parents and relatives), visits the bride’s house. Along with the ceremonial trays of cakes, flowers, sweets, and lucky money, they perform greeting rituals, offer incense at the bride’s ancestral altar, and accompany the bride to the groom’s house.
We were there on the day of Mai’s ancestral ceremony to capture the meaningful and memorable moments of her special day.
We hope that when Mai looks back at these images in the future, she will remember what happened on her joyful day.
